Farmers’ Market 2X weekly Street

Beginning May 24, the Eunice Farmers’ Market will be open twice a week, weather permitting, on Wednesday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon on South 2nd St. between Café Mosaic and the library.

Can parish school enrollment increase?

Newly named St. Landry Parish School Superintendent Milton Batiste charted a tough course for the parish school district’s enrollment. During his presentation to the School Board, Batiste said increasing school enrollment is a “quick win’ way to improve the district’s finances.

Sheriff: Opelousas attorney faces numerous drug charges

An Opelousas attorney faces numerous drug charges after a traffic stop by St Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Laura Marler, 55, of the 6400 block of Highway 31, Opelousas, was stopped on May 12, Guidroz stated in a news release.
