Pray the Rosary throughout May Everyday throughout May a rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. in the prayer garden in front of Saint Anthony of Padua rectory. All are invited and encouraged to pray with Court Eunice 208 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Babineaux Sisters to perform Saturday in Eunice

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center is partnering with the Eunice Depot Museum to bring back the live, acoustic music programs that were previously held at the center. The music programs will take place every second Saturday, beginning this Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 10 Donald Dwayne Broussard, 51, 600 block of W. Hiram Street, Opelousas. Interference with a law enforcement investigation, resisting an officer, battery on a police officer. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
Destiny Malbrough, of Eunice High School, is one of 15 St. Landry Parish students who are scheduled to received associate degrees from LSU Eunice on May 19, which is the same day she graduates for high school. With Malbrough is interim St. Landry Parish Superintendent Dwanetta Scott at the May 4 School Board meeting. Veteran accordionist, singer and songwriter Rosie Ledet leads the Zydeco Capital Jam from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the St. Landry Parish Visitor Center, I-49 exit 23, in Opelousas. The monthly jam has free admission and is open to all musicians and fans.
