Church Point men arrested for burglaries

Two Church Point men have been arrested in connections for burglaries and thefts in Northeast Acadia Parish. Sheriff KP Gibson stated during March deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated a string of burglaries and thefts in the Northeast portion of Acadia Parish.

Firewood theft leads to arson, arrest made

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s (LDAF) fire crews responded to a wildfire on Gitty Up Lane in Leblanc on March 11. The investigation revealed that the fire was an act of arson, and it was set close to where someone had been cutting down hardwood trees for firewood.
