Tools stolen in rural burglary

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the burglary of a building that occurred in the 1300 block of St. Margaret Road, north of Church Point, on Jan. 4 or 5. Entry into the building was by force. Once inside, several pieces of diamond plate metal and various tools were stolen.

Sunset man killed in wreck

A Sunset man was killed in a single-vehicle auto wreck on Boxie Road in Sunset at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

Edwards announces mortgage relief program

BATON ROUGE — Gov. John Bel Edwards announce the launch of the Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Fund, a federally funded relief program for homeowners financially impacted by COVID-19 who are behind on their mortgages and at risk of foreclosure.
