30 catalytic converters stolen from business

Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers is asking for help in solving the theft of 30 catalytic converters. The crimes occurred in the 2500 block of Aymond Street, south of Eunice between the evening of Dec. 3 and the morning of Dec. 6, according to Sheriff K.P. Gibson Entry was gained by cutting a fence.

Former parish lawyer retires as longest serving state Supreme Court clerk of court

A former St. Landry Parish attorney, John T. Olivier, retired on Dec. 31 as the longest serving Louisiana Supreme Court clerk of court. Olivier served the Louisiana Supreme Court for 36 years, including 25 years and 9 months as clerk of court.

Eunice shooters are back in action

Staff Report Eunice Police continued to contend with the “Godless, senseless fools” unleashing a siege of shootings into the new year. Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a female was wounded in the leg in a shooting reported at 9 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of West Oak.
