Chevron, Second Harvest distribute food at LSUE

Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico business unit is partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank and LSU Eunice in St. Landry Parish to distribute food before the holidays to about 200 families who are struggling with food insecurity.
The distribution event is the latest collaboration between Chevron and Second Harvest Food Bank. To date, Chevron has provided more than $2 million to support the food bank’s mission to fight hunger. Over more than a decade, Chevron team members have also donated thousands of volunteer hours to help pack and distribute food to those in need.

Santa Claus at the library

Santa Claus was a special guest at the Eunice Public Library Wednesday at noon.
A large group of children attended the Christmas Story Time hour and listened to Santa read, “The Polar Express,” by Chris Van Allsburg. Children had the opportunity to visit with Santa and tell him about their Christmas wish list.
A bag of reindeer food was then distributed to each child, and the kids enjoyed hand crafting their own Christmas ornaments. (Photos by Myra Miller)
