Violent crime arrests down in 2024

Violent crime arrests in Eunice were down in 2024 compared to 2023 according to a report released by Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef for Tuesday’s Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting. LeBouef pointed out there were 1,274 more traffic stops in 2024 compared to 2023.

Eunice firefighters answered 393 calls in 2024

Eunice Fire Chief Chaise Brown reported 393 calls during 2024 with 24 structure fires and 10 vehicle fires.

A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 190 near Lakeshore Drive in St. Landry Parish claimed the life of 32-year-old Brandon Taylor of Port Barre. Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers began investigating the wreck shortly before 2 a.m. Monday.
