Pine Prairie police chief says he did rehab and wants his car

Pine Prairie Chief of Police L.C. Deshotel, during the village council meeting held July 13, asked the city council for another police unit. The heated exchange began with Deshotel saying to the council, “Let me tell you something, I went to rehab. I quit drinking.

Suspect refuses to be processed

A 55-year-old man who identifies as a sovereign citizen and is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder refused to cooperate with his booking, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

Eunice man suspect in bank fraud

Evangeline Parish Sheriff deputies received a complaint on May 12 of fraudulent activity occurring in the victim’s bank account. The victim advised that there was around $1,500 missing from his checking account.
