Church Point Police seek tips to locate suspect

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs help to locate a wanted fugitive. Church Point Police seek the public’s assistance to locate Matthew John McBride, 42. McBride is a white male, 6’4” in height weighing about 250 pounds. He has black / grey hair and beard.

2nd person arrested in shooting

A second person has been arrested in connection with a shooting a shooting that occurred on May 14 in the area of East Maple Avenue and La. 13.

Pine Prairie police chief says he did rehab and wants his car

Pine Prairie Chief of Police L.C. Deshotel, during the village council meeting held July 13, asked the city council for another police unit. The heated exchange began with Deshotel saying to the council, “Let me tell you something, I went to rehab. I quit drinking.

Suspect refuses to be processed

A 55-year-old man who identifies as a sovereign citizen and is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder refused to cooperate with his booking, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
