3rd person arrested in daycare video case

Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef announced a third arrest in the Pumpkin Patch Day Care video case. Eunice Police have arrested Chasity Monique Guillory, 29, of Eunice on a felony warrant charging her with six counts of principal to cruelty to juveniles.

Burn ban issued for St. Landry Parish

Burn ban issued for St. Landry Parish St. Landry Parish Government has issued a burn ban in the parish effective immediately. The ban includes anything with an open flame that produces an ember. The wind can carry floating embers away from the original fire and start a spot fire.

A second arrest has been made in connection with videos that surfaced showing children being mistreated by adults at the Pumpkin Patch Daycare of Eunice.

As children prepare to begin another school year, the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission reminds all drivers to watch out for students. That means slowing down in school zones and stopping for school buses that are picking up and dropping off children.

St. Landry Crime Stoppers, U.S. Marshals Service needs help locating a fugitive

Johnny Leon Wilson is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for bond revocation for murder and tampering with a corpse out of Harris County, Houston, Texas. In November of 2018, Wilson murdered his wife in Houston and was later apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Opelousas man sentenced for counterfeiting

LAFAYETTE — Gabriel Bates, 33, of Opelousas, was sentenced on July 27 for counterfeiting, announced U.S. Attorney Brandon Brown. U.S. District Judge Robert Summerhays sentenced Bates to 26 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. Bates pleaded guilty to the charge on April 12.
