The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. August 10 Dometrice Alexander Louis, 43, 6700 block of Highway 103, Washington. Cruelty to juveniles. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Monica Dawn Daigle, 38, 200 block of Vautrot Road, Sunset.

Two-vehicle crash in Lafayette Parish on I-49 leaves 2 juveniles dead

Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near the Carencro exit in Lafayette Parish shortly before 3:30 a.m. Aug. 6. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 16-year-old Jose Alvarez of Opelousas and 16-year-old Marlin Garcia of Church Point.

Phone info leads to sex arrest

Text and photos on a phone led to the arrest of an Opelousas man on four sex charges. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz stated Maxie J. Zachary, 42, of the 800 block of Chickasaw Drive was charged on Aug.

Burn bans issued statewide

Burn bans have been imposed statewide. On Aug. 3, St. Landry Parish Government has issued a burn ban in the parish effective immediately. The ban includes anything with an open flame that produces an ember. The wind can carry floating embers away from the original fire and start a spot fire.

Fire Dept. changes approved

The fire station on Sittig Road will become a training facility and three captains are to be promoted to district chiefs as part of changes approved for the fire department at Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting.

Eunice man arrested for attempted murder

A Eunice man wanted for attempted first-degree murder tried tried to escape capture on Monday evening, but ended up on top of grave at St. Paul Cemetery on South 12th Street, according to Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. Oscar LeBlanc III, 30, gave up after a K9 was deployed, LeBouef said.

4th arrest in daycare video case

Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef announced a fourth arrest in the Pumpkin Patch Day Care video case. On Monday, police arrested Katherine Michelle Fontenot, 20, on a felony warrant charging her with six counts of principal to cruelty to juveniles.
