The following are arrests by Eunice Police. August 24 Nickolas Darbonne, 36, 300 block of Eve Benoit, Eunice. Theft. Christie Chapman, 42, 100 block of Angela Street, Oberlin. Theft. Brett Simien, 48, 900 block of Joe W Road, Church Point. Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Jury finds man guilty of sex crimes

A St. Landry Parish Jury found Michael Comeaux guilty of sexual battery (victim under 13 years of age) and pornography involving juveniles on Wednesday after a two-day trial, according to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. August 18 Shaquila Thomas, 29, 900 block of Chickasaw Drive, Opelousas. Theft. Myola Papillion, 32, 1200 block of Inaclaire Drive, Opelousas. Theft. August 23 Brandon Laborde, 38, 2400 block of South F Avenue, Crowley. Bench warrant.

La. 13 traffic stop yields drug bust

A St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team traffic enforcement effort on La. 13 in the Eunice area yielded a drug bust on Aug. 22, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Deputies stopped a black Chevrolet Impala headed south on La. 13.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. August 24 Anna Jean Terry, 44, 1500 block of West Vine, Eunice. Aggravated second degree battery. Arrested by Eunice Police. Donovan Javon Bourgeois, 29, 400 block of North Lombard Street, Opelousas.

Mamou man arrested for aggravated arson

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a Mamou man for allegedly setting fire to one house which spread to a neighboring house with someone inside at the time of the fire.

3 juvenile females struck teacher

Three juvenile females were arrested after they began fighting and they fought a police officer and teacher who tried to break up the fight. The incident occurred at about 7;30 am. on Friday.
