The following are arrests by Eunice Police. August 31 Jessie Smith, 37, 400 block of Pearl, Eunice. Distribution with intention of possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Jessica Whatley, 24, 2200 block of St. Anthony Lane, Sulphur. Probation warrant.

Eunice firefighters and other first-responders responded to a fire at Eunice Manor Thursday at about 2:24 p.m. According to Eunice Fire Chief Chaise Brown, “The fire was contained to one room only, and was an electrical one. There were no injuries. Everybody at the nursing home was accounted for and they were evacuated to outdoors.” (Photo by Myra Miller)
