Eunice Police investigate shooting

A man was wounded in the lower back in a shooting that occurred at about 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Dulles Street, according to Deputy Chief Jeremy Ivory. The victim was taken to Acadian Medical Center by a private vehicle before police arrived, he said.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a reported shooting on Interstate 49 on Sunday, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Guidroz said the shooting occurred at about 4:30 a.m. at mile marker 23 outside Opelousas.
