Homicide investigated near Crowley

The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide. The incident is believed to have occurred Sunday evening at Kathy Apartments just west of Crowley as deputies were called for a shots fired incident. No one was reported injured at that time.

Shooter shot drug suspect’s mother in the face

A drug suspect’s mother was shot in the face shortly early Friday in the 400 block of East Maple Avenue in Eunice, according to Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. Police were dispatched in reference to a woman being shot while inside a residence.

Sober driving urged for holiday

With record numbers of vehicles expected to hit the road this Independence Day holiday, the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission is sponsoring “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” to protect travelers from people who insist on driving while impaired.
