Toddler killer’s appeal rejected

Robert Miller III’s appeal of his manslaughter conviction and 5-year sentence for the killing an 18-month-old toddler has been rejected by the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal.

Eunice Police Arrests report

Eunice man wanted for Rayne attempted burglary

Rayne Police are asking for the public’s assistance locating Johnathan Jay Arabie. Arabie is wanted for attempted burglary. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Johnathan Arabie is described as a white male, 33 years of age. He is 5’9” in height and weighs 200 pounds.

Tips sought in Palmetto shooting that left 1 dead

Detective Blair Bouget of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office returns to Crime Stoppers and needs help in solving a homicide in the Palmetto area.     On June 10, at about 10:48 p.m., deputies with the St.

Police pay proves a moving target

Last week the Eunice Board of Aldermen approved a pay raise for police officers to $16 an hour. And, Mayor Scott Fontenot said he would make the raise effective on June 25. The $16 an hour adds up to $33,280 a year and is up from $12.75 an hour.
