Traffic stop yields pot

A traffic stop yielded 35.5 pounds of marijuana, 190 MDMA pills and a 9mm pistol, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. The seized narcotics had a street value of about $162,920, Guidroz stated. The stop occurred on June 6 when the St.

Unrestrained woman dies in single-vehicle crash in parish

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. on June 4, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana La. 71 north of La. 361 in St. Landry Parish. The crash claimed the life of 55-year-old Melissa A. DeJean of Henderson.

Pedestrian killed on U.S . 90 in Acadia Parish crash

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on U.S. 90, a short distance west of the city limits of Rayne in Acadia Parish. The crash claimed the life of 42-year-old Amanda Soileaux of Rayne.
