The following are arrests by Eunice Police. May 11 Kathleen Ranton, 40, 1300 block of W. Grolee St., Opelousas. Disturbing the peace. Janella Brown, 60, 800 block of South Beulah, Eunice. Disturbing the peace. Delana Guidry, 31, 100 block of DeRouen Ave., Eunice. Probation warrant.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 12 James Colby Thibodeaux, 41, 300 block of Eve Benoit Road, Eunice. Indecent behavior with juveniles. Arrested by Eunice Police. Patrick Joseph Riggs, 42, 800 block of Last Street, Arnaudville.

Eunice man sentenced to life in prison

A Eunice man, Leonard Miller, was sentenced to life in prison for the April 2022 killing of Clarence Mitchell, also of Eunice. St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre announced the sentenced in a news release. The sentenced was delivered on May 9.

Man dies after sucker punch

Stevin Lafleur, 34, of Eunice, died after a sucker punch knocked him to the ground outside a bar in the 200 block of South 2nd Street, said Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. The attack occurred at about 1:40 a.m. May 5.
