Ville Platte man sentenced for child porn

Charles Dirk Lafleur, 56, of Ville Platte, Louisiana, was sentenced to 78 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for possession of child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown. Lafleur was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays.

Ville Platte woman accused of beating her grandmother

A 20-year-old Ville Platte woman is accused of beating her grandmother with a heavy duty wooden back scratcher and picture frame on April 4, according to a news release from Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles Guillory. Lafayette news outlets reported the 85-year-old woman has died.
