Eunice man guilty of 8 counts of attempted possession of pornography involving juveniles

A Eunice man was found guilty of eight counts of attempted possession of pornography involving juveniles following a two day trial in district court here. Andrew Mosbroker, 26, was found guilty of the charges on March 16 in the courtroom of 15th Judicial District Judge Kristian Earles.

Teen charged as adult in killing

A 17-year-old male arrested for the shooting death of Carl J. Vigers, 42, on March 20 will be tried as adult. Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef reported that a 17-year-old had been arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred at East Maple Avenue and South Beulah Street.

At about 5 p.m. on March 16, Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a single-vehicle crash on La. 182 near Cotton Patch Road in St. Landry Parish. The crash ultimately took the life of 72-year-old Freddie Thomas of Wilsonville, Alabama.

Eunice curfew may be working

The curfew for adults in Eunice is apparently working, Police Chief Kyle Lebouef said. The 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew was announced effective March 23. “I’ve not seen as many minors out there walking or hanging out on the street,” he said on Tuesday.
