Shooting suspect wanted

Eunice Police Department and St. Landry Crime Stoppers need help in locating a suspect wanted for the shooting of a 14-year-old victim in the city of Eunice.  On May 4, just after 10 p.m., Eunice Police responded to a call of someone being shot in the 200 block of Acadia Street.

Perchville Road burglary suspects sought

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating several vehicle burglaries in the Perchville Road area just south of Eunice. On June 3 during the early morning hours, two suspects entered several vehicles seeking to steal property from within.

Chief: Wounded man knew nothing

A man who was wounded in the leg told police he was minding his own business and realized he was bleeding, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. Police met the man at Acadian Medical Center on June 3 — at about 9 p.m. — following an evening of gunfire in some usual locations.

Police beef up patrol

Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said there was a last minute decision to place six additional officers on patrol Saturday night. “They said by 9 o’clock Saturday night, Eunice was like a ghost town,” he said.
