Eunice man guilty of killing his wife in September 2012

A Eunice man was found guilty of second-degree murder Thursday for the second time in the stabbing, burning and killing of his wife, Demetra L. Doyle, in September 2012. District Attorney Chad Pitre, in a news release, stated Robert Lee Heard Jr.

Information sought on sex offenders

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Sex Offender Unit is asking the public’s help in locating two sex offenders through Crime Stoppers. Thomas Joseph Jarona left his registered address of 1271 Magnolia Street in Eunice and failed to notify the Sex Offender Unit of his new address.

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish seeks infomation on rape suspect

Rayne Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Clyde J. Citizen. Citizen is wanted for second-degree rape. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Citizen is described as a black male, 28 years of age. He is 5’ 10” in height, weighing 125 pounds.

Eunice residents busted in Carencro for burglary

Two Eunice residents faces charges after being arrested by Carencro Police. Police were investigating a business burglary in Carencro where equipment was damaged and several items were stolen, according to a news release from the Carencro Police Department.

Eunice man slain, suspect tracked to Lafayette

Staff report Clarence Mitchell, 36, died from a shotgun blast Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of Bradley Street just outside Eunice. Through the course of the investigation, Leonard Miller, 35, of the 1600 block of Tyrone Road, Eunice, was identified as the shooter.
