2nd suspect to shooting at Brownie’s arrested

A second suspect to a shooting at South 2nd Street and West Maple in Eunice on April 29 was apprehended in Calcasieu Parish Thursday. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Brian K. Thomas, 20, of Ville Platte, was found through a tip to Crime Stoppers of St. Landry.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office Arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. June 11 Terrance L. Boykins, 29, 100 block of Plantation Road, Opelousas. Domestic abuse battery (child endangerment). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Phillip McCraig Joseph, Jr.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. June 10 Jeremy Ryan Ashworth, 28, 100 block of Pat Bidez Road, Eunice. Unauthorized access to railroad property, resisting an officer. Juvenile, 13, Eunice. Theft, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, flight from an officer on foot.

Eunice man arrested for setting fire to the house where he lived

State Fire Marshal deputies have arrested a Eunice man accused of setting fire to the house where he lived. Nathan Ortego, 35, was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on one count of simple arson.
