Daigle retires from Eunice Police Department

Eunice Police Deputy Chief Richard Daigle worked his last day on Friday to complete 30 of service to the city and begin retirement, according to Chief of Police Randy Fontenot. Daigle started his career in public service in 1983 when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy until 1987.

Church Point teen’s trial set Feb. 1

A Church Point teenager is set to stand trial in February in the shooting death of another Church Point teen. Nicholas W. Ardoin, 18, is scheduled to be tried on Feb. 1, 2021, in connection with the Nov. 2 shooting of 14-year-old Trey’kwan Butler. Ardoin, who was arrested the following day, Nov.

Thefts target catalytic converters

St. Landry Crime Stoppers and Deputy Jared Harbour of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office needs help in solving a rash of burglaries throughout the parish. During November, deputies responded to eight separate burglaries involving the theft of catalytic converters.
