Crowley man charged with rape, imprisonment

A Crowley man has been arrested after he allegedly held a woman against her will and forced her to have sex with him. Tony J. Trumps, 49, of the 500 block of South Avenue E, has been charged with first-degree rape and false imprisonment, according to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard.

Information sought about Branch vehicle burlgaries

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted for vehicle burglaries in the Branch Community. These burglaries occurred during the early morning hours of Dec. 11, 2019, along White Oak Highway.

2 of 36 guns stolen in Eunice burglary recovered

Two of the 32 pistols stolen in a burglary discovered Dec. 23 at Double Action on Maple Avenue have been recovered. Eunice Police Chief said both guns were recovered from juveniles in Opelousas. On Saturday, Opelousas Police stopped a person for a curfew violation and found one of the guns.
