The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. October 11 Adan Benientez, 26, 2000 block of Betty Street, Eunice. Domestic abuse battery (strangulation). Arrested by Eunice Police. Jaylen Jawan Johnson, 24, 100 block of Plantation Road, Opelousas. Probation hold.

Shooting investigated near Rayne High School

UPDATED: 10/14/19 RAYNE - Rayne Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly advised that his patrol and detectives division are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred the evening of Friday, October 11.

Port Barre man pleads guilty to to transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity

U.S. Attorney David C. Joseph announced that Cory Shane Disotell, 48, of Port Barre, appeared before U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays today and pled guilty to transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Guillory pleads not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder

A Church Point man has entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder in the Jan. 25, 2016, shooting death of Church Point native Bethany Walters.
