Sheriff says be aware of sex offenders

There are about 188 registered sex offenders, and St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said he wants you to know where they reside so that you avoid those houses when trick-or-treating.

Local bail bondsman arrested on multiple charges

Local bail bondsman, James Bertrand, was arrested late Wednesday night on two counts of false imprisonment, false personation and criminal trespassing. Bertrand’s charge of false imprisonment (armed) stems from an incident that occurred on Monday, September 24th, in Turkey Creek.

Man arrested for stabbing Turkey Creek chief changes plea

On Monday, October 15th, Zachery Deville, who was arrested for stabbing Turkey Creek Police Chief, Glenn Leggett, appeared before 13th Judicial District Court Judge Gary Ortego to change his not guilty plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.
