Local bail bondsman arrested on multiple charges

Local bail bondsman, James Bertrand, was arrested late Wednesday night on two counts of false imprisonment, false personation and criminal trespassing. Bertrand’s charge of false imprisonment (armed) stems from an incident that occurred on Monday, September 24th, in Turkey Creek.

On Monday, October 15th, Zachery Deville, who was arrested for stabbing Turkey Creek Police Chief, Glenn Leggett, appeared before 13th Judicial District Court Judge Gary Ortego to change his not guilty plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.

4 arrested in Lawtell shooting

Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Lawtell, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz in a news release. On Oct. 18, deputies were called to 599 Durosseau Road where two victims had sustained gunshot wounds.

Tips sought for Iota burglary
