The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Oct.. 17 Calandra A. Preston, 31, 100 block of Old Spanish Road, Opelousas. Principle to forgery warrant. Dustin Higginbotham, 33, 100 block of Robinson Road, Elton. Warrant for criminal mischief. Edwin H. Fruge, 64, 5300 block of Gumpoint Road, Eunice.

Church Point Police capture shooters

Police have captured another suspect following an October 6 shooting on Martin Luther King Dr. in Church Point. Royel Williams was arrested and booked with an attempted second degree murder charge and aggravated assault, thanks to the help of the Rayne Police Department.

Scott woman pleads guilty to tax preparation scheme

Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced that a Scott tax preparer pleaded guilty Tuesday to putting false information on clients’ tax forms that caused the IRS to pay out more than $105,000. Vida Prejean Thomas, 44, of Scott, pleaded guilty before U.S.

The Crowley Police Department has purchased a tool that will help them feel confident in case one of them is ever faced with an injury threatening their lives. Last week, Crowley Police Chief Jimmy Broussard introduced a safety tourniquet to his men as well as the public.
