Gunfire kills 3 people, K-9

The peaceful year that had yet to see a homicide in 2017 was shattered Wednesday evening as a suspect, identified by sources as Donald Johnson, shot two women at different locations before getting into a gunfight with police. Johnson was shot and killed during the shoot-out.

Eunice Police received 12,786 complaints in 2016, the highest since 2012, according to statistics released by Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot. Police averaged 1,065 complaints per month in 2016, he said.

Eunice man arrested; offered flag to president

A 22-year-old Eunice man was arrested after he jumped into the back seat of a Eunice Police car and demanded to be taken to the president, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. Scotty Aymond Jr.
