Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs help to solve a rash of burglaries outside Eunice

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating residential and vehicle burglaries in the area of Fournerat Road and Post Drive outside of Eunice that occurred on multiple occasions during February.

Eunice Police seek money for drug dog

Eunice Police are seeking donations to bring back a K9 unit targeting drugs. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said, “We are looking into getting another K-9 for narcotics since we retired our other two because of their age and the cost.

Iota student expelled after bringing gun to school

In a matter that has been turned over to authorities, one student at Iota High has been expelled for bringing a gun to school. The student, a juvenile, brought a gun to school and left it in his locker to go practice shooting targets with someone after school, Superintendent John Bourque said.
