LSUE to host baseball tournament

A 10–team, four-day high school baseball tournament begins today at LSU Eunice’s Bengal Stadium. The teams involved are Eunice High, St. Edmund, Kinder, Iowa, St. Louis, DeRidder along with two teams from Barbe and Catholic High of Baton Rouge.

LSUE trio named All-Region

In a repeat of last year, the LSUE Lady Bengals finished second in Region 23 tournament but then grabbed the NJCAA Division II national championship over Jones County Junior College.

Bengals season ends at regionals

ELLISVILLE, Mississippi – The second ranked Bengals’s season ended Friday night as LSU Eunice fell 10-2 to top-ranked Jones County Junior College in the Region 23 tournament. JCJC, the defending NJCAA Division II champion, advanced to the regional title game with a chance to return the world series.

Lady Bengals win fifth championship

CLINTON, Mississippi – The LSU Eunice Lady Bengals won their fifth national championship with a dramatic 8-7 win over top-ranked Jones County Junior College Saturday at Traceway Park.

Granger’s legacy will live on

Ross Granger never threw a pitch for LSU Eunice, but he will forever be a Bengal. “It is our responsibility to make sure his legacy lives on,” LSUE head coach Jeff Willis said.

Dreams do come true

At 4:10 p.m. Monday afternoon in Cincinnati, Ohio, the dream will come true for Stuart Turner as he will join his Reds teammates on opening day against the Philadelphia Philles. But that historic event for the former Eunice High and LSU Eunice standout is no surprise to his former coaches.

LAFAYETTE – Dr. Bryan Maggard, who spent the past 21 years in athletics administration at the University of Missouri, was officially introduced as Director of Athletics for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns.

Bengals begin with strong showing

The second-ranked LSU Eunice baseball team opened the 2017 season with a 12-2, 11-5, 11-1 sweep over North Lake College. LSUE will entertain Southwest Tennessee Community College in a four-game series beginning 6 p.m. Thursday.
