Sumlin on hot seat in Aggieland

This is the ninth team in the SEC football preview series:
We all know is it hot in Texas in the summer.
There is no place warmer than Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin’s office chair.
The pressure to improve is obvious after the Aggies lost four of their final five games, including the Texas Bowl to Kansas State.
Sumlin has seen his team go 8-5 for three straight seasons and even eight wins could be a challege in 2017.

Bulldogs not ready for SEC West battle

This is the ninth team in the SEC football preview series:
Mississippi State fans should be thankful for the Ole Miss struggles as it will keep the Bulldogs out of the SEC West cellar.
MSU should win its first two games against Charleston Southern (96.7 percent chance of winning) and Louisiana Tech (80).But the Bulldogs open the SEC 0-3 with losses to LSU (29.8), Georgia (21.2) and Auburn (11.8).
MSU will rebound with wins over Brigham Young (71.9) and Kentucky (55.4) before a road loss at Texas A&M (29.4).

Georgia plans to win East

The Florida-Georgia line is more than a boundry or the name of a country band.
The fine line between winning the SEC East recently has been determined at the showdown between the Gators and the Bulldogs.
Florida has won the last three and captured two straight SEC East titles.
The Bulldogs won three straight against Florida (2011-2013) and Georgia fans hope a new streak starts on Oct. 28.
This could be the first time since 2012 Georgia can have a home-field game at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Florida will look to repeat

This is the sixth team in the SEC football preview series:
After back-to-back SEC titles, it may be harder for Florida to grab a threepeat in 2017.
Jim McElwain’s Gators could have a great season with 10 wins and another trip to the SEC championship game.
The Gators are favored over Michigan (52.6 precent chance of winning), Northern Colorado (99.7), Tennessee (62.2), Kentucky (61.9) and Vanderbilt (83.5) before a homecoming sbowdown with LSU (50.6)
After a win over the Tigers and Florida will be favored over Texas A&M (70.8)

Tennessee’s trip to the top could be rocky

This is the fifth team in the SEC football preview series:
The Tennessee Volunteers have improved each season under the direction of Butch Jones.
In the past four years, the Volunteers were, 5-7, 7-6, 9-4 and 9-4.
There was all kinds of hype heading into last season as the Vols seemed poised to win the East and finish in the top 10 –maybe higher.
The highs were wins over Florida, Georgia and Virginia Tech.
That should have put them near the top of the heap.
