Legislator defends prisoner release

Critics of our criminal justice reform are consistently misleading the public, trying to make it look like we released a crime wave on the streets of Louisiana’s cities. It just isn’t so.
One writer said we are putting the public at risk by granting early releases. That’s just fear mongering.
Under no circumstances would I risk the safety of the community where I live with my family and where my children are now raising my grandchildren.
Besides, most of these people were released only 60 days earlier than their normal release date.

Honor Guard reported on solid foundation

A great big thank you for participating in the formation of the St. Landry Veteran Funeral Honor Guard. The Honor Guard is on a solid foundation with the purchase of new rifles and a top of the line ceremonial bugle with a multi-call mode bugle insert providing different selections of military music. The “Taps” mode will be the most used for military funeral honors ceremonies.
Of course we are paying as we purchase therefore we have no debts. Although we have progressed quit well and are still accepting donations for the uniform side of the Honor Guard.
