It was easy to tell that rivals were facing each other Wednesday as St. Edmund battled Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
St. Edmund athletics celebrated its fall sports with a ceremony as numerous athletes were recognized.
The Eunice Lady Cats fell in the District 4-4A opener to North Vermilion, 49-42.

PRAIRIE RONDE – Ville Platte exploded for 36 points in the third period to break open a close game as the Bulldogs rolled to a 80-61 win over the Eunice Bobcats in Northwest High’s Holiday tournament.
ABBEVILLE – It was a low-scoring game that worked in the Lady Jays’ favor as St. Edmund earned a 39-32 road win over Vermilion Catholic.
LEBEAU – The Lady Bobcats used a balanced offense and a stingy defense as Eunice rolled to a 58-32 win over Port Barre to open the St. Landry Parish basketball tournament held at North Central High School.
