The Eunice tennis team earned a 6-2 home win over Lafayette Christian Academy on Thursday.
On the boys side, LCA’s Silas Fontenot rolled to an 8-1 win over Eunice’s Philippe Soileau.
Soileau responded with an 8-3 win over Caleb Fontenot, Silas’ twin brother.
The Lady Jay offense scored five runs in the fourth inning and pitcher Karleigh Soileau threw a one-hitter as St. Edmund earned a 5-0 win over Lafayette Christian Academy.
With the win, St. Edmund improved to 7-0 on the season.
The Eunice High softball improved to 11-1 on the season with a pair of one-sided wins this week.
Before heading into the St. Edmund tournament this weekend, the Lady Bobcats had won 11 games in a row after the season opening 13-6 loss to Port Barre.
The 20th annual John R. Young – Frey Holding Corporation baseball tournament will be held this weekend at both Eunice High and St. Edmund fields.
The Bobcats will open the tournament 4:30 p.m. today against Plaquemine.
Eunice will take om Kinder at 6:45 p.m.

The Eunice Lady Bobcats opened District 4-4A play with a 7-6 win over Rayne.
Eunice (9-1) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Alexis Ortego walked and scored on a double by Olivia Thibodeaux.

St. Edmund remained undefeated with a 11-0 mercy-rule win over Lacassine Monday at Lady Jay Field.
Karleigh Soileau threw a no hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk.
Soileau retired the first 13 batters before Taylor Talbot drew a walk with two outs in the fifth inning.
The Bobcats edged past Iota 102-100 as Eunice won their season opening track meet.
Crowley finished third with 92 points, followed by Pine Prairie (83), Mamou (41), Opelousas Catholic (27) and St. Edmund (8).
Eunice High’s Jesten Calloway captured the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.87.
Eunice grabbed a walk-off thriller over Brusly Thursday when Jaheim Mitchell ripped a bases loaded single that allowed Dru Phillips to score the winning run.
Even after a 2-5 start to the season, St. Edmund head baseball coach Barry Manuel has a positive outlook on the year.
The Blue Jays will have a full roster after the conclusion of the basketball season, which Manuel says adds experience and depth to his team.
