St. Ed’s to hold Brad Fontenot Memorial Holliday Shootout

Basketball fans looking for games to watch during the holiday break, St. Edmund will hold the a basketball tournament next week with 10 boys teams and five girls teams. The Brad Fontenot Memorial Holiday Shootout at St. Edmund is a new adventure for the basketball programs.

Seven Lady Jays named to All-District

Seven St. Edmund players were named to the 2020 Division V, District 2 All-District team. Lady Jay senior Anna Belle Fontenot was named to the first team.

In Nick Trosclair’s first season as the Blue Jays’ head basketball coach, St. Edmund finished 12-12 overall, 3-2 in District 5-1A. “Last year there wasn’t a lot of expectations,” Trosclair said. “They hadn’t won many games prior to last season.

ELTON – The Lady Jays jumped out to a 12-5 first quarter lead Thursday night as St. Edmund grabbed a 52-40 win over Elton. Mary Beth Lafleur drilled two treys, Greta Miller added two buckets and Savannah DeVillier hit tow free throws to help the Lady Jays’ early lead.
