BALL – The Bobcats knew they were in for a battle visiting undefeated Tioga Thursday.
Eunice answered the challenge as the Bobcats knocked off the Indians, 32-27.
The game just means more when St. Edmund faces long-time rival Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
The Blue Jays won five in a row between 2010 – 2014, but the Trojans have won the last two contests.
The Bobcats face a tough non-district opponent Thursday as Eunice travels to No. 6-ranked Tioga.
The game was moved up from Friday because of the threat of stormy weather.
The Bobcats needed to bounce back after a last-second loss against Rayne and Eunice High responded with a 49-28 win over Washington-Marion.
The St. Edmund Blue Jays celebrated homecoming with a convincing 57-0 win over the North Central Hurricanes.
The Blue Jays exploded for 36 points in the first half and then added 21 more points in the third period.
It’s homecoming week at St. Edmund as the Blue Jays will entertain North Central in a key District 5-1A contest.
After a last-second 20-16 loss at Rayne, the Bobcats look to regroup Friday against the Washington – Marion Indians.
“We didn’t play very well,” Eunice head coach Paul Trosclair said.
RAYNE – Rayne quarterback Bleyton Francis hit Darrell Weathersby for a 3-yard touchdown with three seconds left to lift the Wolves to a 20-16 win over the No. 6 Eunice Bobcats.
OPELOUSAS – The Vikings proved worthy of their rankings as Opelousas Catholic rolled to a 35-6 win over St. Edmund Thursday in the District 5-1A opener for both teams.
