Dreamers’ Land Daycare celebrates Black History Month

Black History Month was celebrated at Dreamers’ Land Daycare & Learning Center. The daycare celebrated, honored and recognized Manzy and Margie Thomas of Eunice. Dreamers’ Land Daycare & Learning Center LLC is the only black-owned local daycare center in Eunice.

Zydeco reading, lesson and music at East Elementary

As an extension of their art education class, third and fourth grade students at East Elementary were treated to a performance by the Acadiana Center for the Arts. The program featured Zydeco artist Corey Ledet and the author of the book “Zydeco Zoom”, Theresa Singleton.

A Mardi Gras AR party at East Elementary

East Elementary’s fourth graders earned their way to a Mardi Gras party for reaching their AR goal. Students created a King Cake with doughnuts and homemade icing.

The sixth annual Parade of Paws parade was held Saturday at 3 p.m. on downtown South 2nd. Organizer and event planner Jerica Guillory held registration in front of Beaucoup on S. 2nd for the event before the parade began. There were 37 entries.
