Foods that can positively affect mood

No one is immune to the occasional bad mood. Whether it’s the weather, waking up on the wrong side of the bed or another variable, various factors can have an adverse affect on a person’s mood. Did you know? Food is one factor that can have a positive effect on mood.

Drummer at Highland

Lakendrick Frank, a fourth grader at Highland Elementary, tries out drumming skills during his music class lesson. Music teacher Courtney Bolles at Highland Elementary was able to receive buckets donated by the local Walmart store so that she could teach rhythm and heartbeat in music class.

Highland Elementary artists show off their work

Students that attend Amy Myers’ art class at Highland Elementary were able to paint fall trees this week. Students were given an example of how to use their brushes to paint the tree trunk and branches. Then, they used their finger tips to make fall leaves on and around their trees.

Jonathan Reaux Jonathan and Carmen Reaux of Eunice announce the birth of their son, Jonathan Wayne Reaux, born at Jennings American Legion on Dec. 31 weighing 6 pounds and 15 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Claire Thibodeaux Soileau and Joseph Soileau.

Eunice High School names Student of the Year

Eunice High School named its Student of the Year. Ana Lynn Bielstein, a senior, received the honor. Bielstein is actively involved at the high school campus.

LeJeune and Mankin wed during December ceremony

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Courtney Paige LeJeune and Brandt Anthony Mankin in Holy Matrimony. The double-ring ceremony was held on Friday, December 18 at 6 p.m. with the Reverend Mikel Polson officiating.

Kash George Erik and Donna George announce the birth of their son, Kash Kade George, born at Acadian Medical Center on Dec. 22 weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Donald and Rose Prudhomme of Kinder. Paternal grandparents are Ruffin and June George of Oakdale.
