Catholic Schools essay winner named

Anna Fruge was selected as the winner of the Catholic Schools Week Essay Writing contest, which all tenth graders participated during Catholic Schools Week. She wrote an essay about what it means to her to have the opportunity to attend St. Edmund Catholic School.

Callen Tabbytosavit Dustin and Ashley Tabbytosavit of Kinder announce the birth of their son, Callen Wayne Tabbytosavit, born at Acadian Medical Center on Jan. 20 weighing 7 pounds and 6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Jerry and Edith Langley of Kinder.

Reed named St. Landry Parish Middle School Student of the Year

Destiny Chante’ Reed, a fifth grader at Central Middle School, has recently been named St. Landry Parish Middle School Student of the Year. Reed is a 4.0 GPA honor student at the middle school campus. Reed is the daughter of Travis and Delana Reed. She has two siblings, Travis Reed Jr.

St. Edmund Catholic School celebrates Catholic Schools Week, Feb. 1 through Feb. 5. On Monday students celebrated their community. Second graders in Mary Joubert’s class at St. Edmund Elementary celebrated Catholic Schools Week and Monday students dressed as essential workers.
