What to do with Thanksgiving leftovers

The following, courtesy of Newspaper Metro, gives you suggestions on what to do with left over turkey and possible different meals to prepare with the leftover meat. I’m thinking possibly preparing a turkey, ham and cheese salad, turkey sandwiches, or trying turkey in a jambalaya with sausage.

An Angel Tree

An Angel Tree is set up at Chris’ Sacred Heart Christian Books & Gifts at 1701 W. Laurel Ave. for Oaklane Wellness residents. One can pick an angel. There are male and female angels with three Christmas wishes listed on each one.

21st annual Noel on the Prairie

Shoppers lined up before opening at 9 a.m. Saturday at Gossip, one of the participating merchants of the 21st annual Noel on the Prairie. The pre-holiday shopping gala event was held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and some businesses was opened Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

It's that time of the year

Wear comfortable shoes, drink lots of coffee, and bring spending cash, because this is the weekend to shop. The 21st annual Noel on the Prairie, a holiday shopping spree, is set for Saturday and Sunday. I think I may have only missed one or two Noel on the Prairie weekends in the past.

Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Members of the Eunice Branch of the National Association of University Women and citizens recently participated in a “Walk to Squash Cancer.” Their walk was around the area near Highland Elementary School. Each participant received a gift bag of goodies and information from the organization.

KEB board conducts Litter Index

Keep Eunice Beautiful, as an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, conducted the Litter Index on Oct. 26 and 27. The KEB Board members and volunteers first met up at 8:30 a.m. each day at the City Hall parking lot.
