Paw ticket winners named at Glendale

Students are chosen by their teachers for good behavior at Glendale Elementary. Students names are put into a weekly drawing for prizes. These students were chosen for the week of Jan. 6 and are Paw ticket winners.

Birth Announcements

Nina Fulford Christopher and Bethany Fulford announce the birth of their daughter, Nina Rae Fulford, born at Acadian Medical Center on Jan. 8 weighing 6 pounds and 12.8 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Shawn and June Soileau of Grand Prairie.

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Al Roger & La. Pride. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Strategies to control appetite

Controlling your appetite does not have to be a complex undertaking. In fact, some of the simplest strategies can be highly effective. Fiber-rich vegetables produce feelings of fullness. By eating them before other portions of a meal, people can avoid overeating.
