Averi Semien Gabrielle Freeman of Mamou and Daniel Semien of Ville Platte announce the birth of their daughter, Averi Amara Semien, born at Acadian Medical Center on Dec. 11 weighing 6 pounds and 9 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Latasha Freeman of Mamou and Lorena Semien of Ville Platte.

Paw ticket winners named at Glendale Elementary

St. Edmund Jr. Beta sponsors a Cookie Festival

The St. Edmund Junior Beta Club held a Christmas Cookie Festival Tuesday as a service for the holiday season. Elementary and middle school students were invited to participate, bake cookies and invite others to bake cookies.

DARE essay contest winners at St. Edmund

St. Edmund Elementary fifth graders graduated recently from the DARE program. Students had the opportunity to learn the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and drug use as well as the danger of bullying as part of the DARE program. They also participated in an essay contest.
