Highland Elementary held a Cajun basket raffle and drew a winner, Annet Briscoe. Matthew St. Cyr, left, accepted the basket on her behalf since he sold the winning ticket. St. Cyr is a fourth grader in Jason Thibodeaux’s class.
Bulb and Blossom Garden Club volunteer member Celeste Gomez presented the Residential Yard of the Month marker to Laurie and Bill Fontenot of 1310 Duck Avenue.
Pennies for Patients program at East Elementary was a success as students raised over $1,900 for leukemia lymphoma society. Earning first place with monies raised was second graders in Merline Bollich’s class.
