Strategies to stay on your diet when dining out

After eating a huge Thanksgiving feast, most of us, including myself, will be back at trying to shed the extra pounds. When dining out, try to choose healthier food choices or portions. I know I’m guilty for wanting to eat the foods that are not healthy for me.

Scholastic Book Fairs truck arrived at East

On Friday East Elementary students had the opportunity to view the Scholastic Book fairs truck on campus. The school will hold its book fair from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. until noon Friday, Dec. 6. Family Night will be held from 4 until 6 p.m.

Keep food safety, moderation in mind for holiday meals

Benoit at Liberty

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Kenneth Benoit & The Gravel Road Band. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Miller chosen Student of the Year at Eunice High School

Abigail Miller, a senior at Eunice High School, is Student of the Year. Miller has excelled at Eunice High in multiple fields. She is involved with STEM and history having placed at all school science fairs as well as most of the District level fairs.
