This week’s Student of the Week is Josiah Doucet, a senior at Eunice High School. His parents are Raissa and Larry Doucet. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Japan because the culture is interesting.

Cajun Stompers at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by The Cajun Stompers. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Birth Announcements

Nevaeh Clark Katie Fontenot and Johnny Clark announce the birth of their daughter, Nevaeh Jo Fontenot Clark, born at Acadian Medical Center on Nov. 8 weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Penny Fontenot and Michael Fontenot. Paternal grandparents are Jesse Clark and Lisa Clark.

Get It Growing: It’s satsuma time in Louisiana

It’s satsuma time in Louisiana. Some early varieties began ripening in late September while other varieties will continue to mature through late November on into early December. In the southern part of the state, satsuma harvest is well underway.
