Birth Announcements

Christian Jenkins Lacy Miller and Toby Jenkins of Eunice announce the birth of their son, Christian Michael Jenkins, born at Acadian Medical Center on Oct. 30 weighing 6 pounds and 1 ounce. Maternal grandparents are Tina Miller of Eunice and Ashton Miller Jr. of Eunice.

Veterans program at Glendale Elementary

Glendale Elementary held a Veterans Day Celebration on campus Friday to honor and pay tribute to all veterans. Rep. Phillip DeVillier presented Laura Lombas, principal at Glendale, with a new flag.

Jamie Berzas at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Jamie Berzas & Cajun Tradition. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Angel Tree at Sacred Heart Books & Gifts

Monica Sanders of Eunice chose two angels off of the Angel Tree at Chris’ Sacred Heart Books & Gifts. Every season the book store sets up a tree for residents at Oak Lane Wellness. The colored angels for female and male residents lists three Christmas gift wishes.

Health benefits of peanut butter

Peanut butter can be a nutritious addition to anyone’s diet. But peanut butter should be eaten in moderation and consumers should recognize that not all peanut butters provide the nutritional value they’re looking for. I love peanut butter.

St. Edmund honors Outstanding Students

Each grading term, one St. Edmund Elementary student from each grade is chosen for demonstrating outstanding Christian character. These students were recognized for the second six weeks of the school year. Students are with Deacon Gary Gaudin.
