First Church Jambalaya Cook-off

The first Church Jambalaya Cook-Off was held Saturday on the grounds and pavilion at the Northwest Community Center. The Church Cook-off is a non-profit organization that was created to bring churches and surrounding communities together for a fun-filled day for everyone of all ages.

Shirley Faulk Jodon and Deyo Jodon have been married for the past 59 years. The couple first met each other through Shirley’s uncle. She added, “My uncle, Kenneth King, lived by Deyo’s parents’ home in Crowley. My family would visit my uncle on Sundays. We were both young when we met.
