School budget decline forecast

Longtime coroner Dr. Russell Pavich dies

Dr. Russell Pavich, who served 26 years as St. Landry Parish coroner, died on June 10, according to an obituary. Pavich was 70. Pavich was elected coroner after serving one term as a police juror.

Former LSUE basketball player missing after tubing in Idaho

Authorities are searching for a 21-year-old former LSUE basketball player from Lafourche Parish who went missing in an Idaho river near Boise after visiting the state for a trip, according to a report on WDSU’s website.

UL Lafayette mourns first lady and ‘greatest cheerleader,’ Gail Savoie

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is mourning the loss of its First Lady.   Gail Heinbach Savoie, the wife of UL Lafayette President Joseph Savoie, passed away on Sunday following an extended illness. She was 67 years old.   In a statement to the campus, Dr.
